Job description

We are looking for full time and part time care workers to join our team.

As a Care Worker you are entrusted and required to provide the highest standard of quality care to all clients you provide care for, by respecting and upholding their rights, choice, privacy and dignity. It is your duty to ensure all our clients are empowered to be as independent as possible, therefore being able to discharge your assigned duties effectively. Some tasks may not be specified below, but you are required to comply with the care plan located in the service user home that gives a detailed description of care to be provided. Service User routines and preferences will also be provided.

The support we provide is person centred and focusses on enabling people to achieve their goals, aspirations and the things that really matter to them. We ensure people maintain their wellbeing and play an active role in their local communities. Building positive relationships with peers is essential. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • To work within individual Service User’s homes and in the community as appropriate to the Service User’s needs and package of care being delivered. 

  • To ensure that the care provided is in line with the Service Delivery Plan and associated Risk Assessments. 

  • To support Service users with all aspects of their personal care, including showering and bathing; dressing and grooming; toileting and incontinence; oral hygiene 

  • To support Service Users with all aspects of medication, including administration, prompting, communicating with pharmacy and collection 

  • To support Service users with all aspects of their meal preparation, including cooking, heating, preparing, serving and feeding 

  • To support Service users with home management, including domestic chores, laundry and changing bedding 

  • To provide a safe and reliable service ensuring that you arrive on time and provide all care required.  

 

Person specification:  

Essential requirements:  

  • Experience of working with people who have learning or physical disabilities 

  • Experience of supporting people with their personal care 

  • Experience of liaising with external agencies 

  • Experience of accurate record keeping 

  • Simple cooking skills  

  • Able to work unsupervised 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Empathetic and patient, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients. 

  • Flexible and adaptable in supporting clients with a range of needs. 

Desirable requirements: 

  • Hold a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle 

  • Registration with Social Care Wales  

  • QCF Diploma in Adult Care
