DEVELOPMENT COACH

Job Description:

Wales England Care is recruiting Development Coaches to deliver Adult and Children and Young People Apprenticeships, up to level 5. We are seeking experienced coaches, that can inspire and motivate apprentices to achieve.  

 

The Development Coach will provide tailored support to apprentices to enable them to successfully achieve their apprenticeship programme. The role focuses on high-quality delivery, apprentice progress, and positive employer engagement to ensure successful outcomes. ​

Key Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Deliver apprenticeship programmes Levels 2–5, including Functional Skills to Level 2 in English and maths. 

  • Build and maintain strong, professional working relationships with employers. 

  • Plan, deliver, and accurately record comprehensive monthly and 12-weekly progress reviews. 

  • Ensure all apprentices receive robust quality assurance feedback in a timely manner. 

  • Adapt delivery styles to meet the individual needs of apprentices. 

  • Effectively manage individual performance, targets, and caseload expectations. 

  • Actively engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD). 

  • Communicate effectively across the organisation at all levels. 

 

 Person specification:

Essential requirements:

  • Recognised delivery/assessor qualification (D32/33, A1, or TAQA). 

  • Level 2 (GCSE grade A–C / 4–9) or equivalent in English and maths. 

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), or willingness to work towards. 

  • Full driving license and access to vehicle 

  • Relevant sector qualifications related to Health and Social Care and/or Children and Young People. 

  • Experience working in an education, training, or apprenticeship environment. 

  • Experience delivering or supporting Functional Skills (English, maths, and/or digital skills). 

  • Experience liaising with employers and external partners. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Empathetic and patient, with the ability to build positive relationships with apprentices. 

  • Highly organised, with the ability to track and monitor apprentice progress effectively. 

  • Flexible and adaptable in supporting apprentices with a range of needs. 

  • Confident in the use of digital platforms and able to support apprentices using online tools. 

 

Desirable requirements: 

  • D34 / IQA Award. 

  • Additional qualifications in learning support or SEND 

  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements. 

  • Awareness of safeguarding and Prevent duties in the FE/work-based learning sector. 

  • Experience supporting apprentices with additional learning needs.
